THE LAST TIME I COULDN’T EVEN LOVE MYSELF ANYMORE
I LOST IT AND I STOPPED SEARCHING
AREN’T WE ALL A LITTLE LONELY
the space between you and me
has grown into a living rain forest
the dampened oxygen helps me
I can breath again
this blackened air
and grey fog of trouble
cleared into an open heaven
I can think again
the ticking watch
on my left wrist is
not waiting for your hours
I decide where to go
You thought you knew me
And I thought that you did
But like the green of a rainforest
We all have unexpected turns
My colors were to sharp
I couldn’t life in your landscape
I needed space.
‘it was hard for me’
was it hard to think of how things used to be?
or was it hard realizing that it still hurts?
it hurts like a sour sting of sufferance
the taste of disapproval
she left you bitter
MAYBE IT IS JUST THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL
OR ALL THESE WORDS THAT YOU SAID TO ME
ABOUT HOW PROUD YOU ARE AND THAT YOU
LIKE MY WRITINGS IN THE EARLY MORNING
MAYBE ITS THE FACT THAT I LOOK FOR YOU
IN EVERY CROWDED PLACE AND THAT I
LONG TO TALK TO YOU FOR HOURS AND THAT I
LIKE THAT YOU DRINK YOU COFFEE BLACK
MAYBE I DO LOVE YOU
but maybe I wish I didn’t
maybe you’re just a cloud
in this endless daydream
A bad habit of mine
Is that I’m stubborn
And do not really take advice
A friend of mine insisted that
I would publish my work
My stories, poems, and thoughts
